Welcome to the Port of Pend Oreille
The Port of Pend Oreille, dba Pend Oreille Valley Railroad (POVA) is a non-taxing government entity focused on driving economic prosperity in Pend Oreille County. In 1979 the county’s citizens voted to create POVA to continue operating a historic and economically important railroad. Since then, we’ve done that and much more. Today, the Port serves as the County and Washington State’s Associate Development Office (ADO).
“A port in inland Northeast Washington? Shouldn’t ports be by the ocean? What does a ‘port’ do?”
Great questions.
